HIII!
Where to start?!? This past week we have seen so many miracles. I just want to say there is NOTHING like missionary work. You have disappointments and hard times, yeah, but the good moments outweigh the bad for sure. There is nothing like feeling a strong love for people you have never met and also seeing them change their lives and feel of the love that our Heavenly Father has for them. This past transfer we kind of had to start from scratch because we didn't have solid people we were teaching, they weren't keeping commitments and they didn't truly want to change. When it comes to that point, you have to let them go. It's hard, but I know that with time they will be more ready and accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ into their lives. We have been working hard trying to find people that are ready to accept the Gospel, this past week we were blessed.
We had a lesson with a lady named Betsy and she is so sweet. She has two kids and she's been taught by missionaries before. From the beginning, we knew she was having a hard time. She's single, works hard for her two kids, her mom has a lot of health problems, and she's just overwhelmed. We shared with her how much Heavenly Father loves her, how much He wants us to pray to Him because we can feel of that love when we pray. We told her about the Plan of Salvation and how we lived with our Heavenly Father before this life and that we chose to come to this Earth and we were excited! We let her know that no matter what trial, difficulty, or weakness we have it can be made better through our Savior, Jesus Christ. She kept saying "Thank you" during the lesson and we just kept saying it's not us. There isn't a better feeling than knowing that the spirit was able to work through you as an instrument in the hands of the Lord.
Every Friday night we teach a less active member, Andres, who is so awesome! He works so much and he can't come to church on Sundays. Friday night, he brought a friend he had recently met to our appointment with him. We were able to teach him about the Restoration and that there is Christ's true church on the Earth today. The next day he came to a session of conference! We were so excited. I love being a missionary!
I hope you all had the chance to watch conference, it was amazing! I wrote down questions or problems that I needed help with, and every single one was answered during conference. I know the the Lord is aware of each and every one of us. If you weren't able to watch it, you really should! Here is the link http://lds.org/general-conference/sessions/2011/10?lang=eng. :] The Mormon Tabernacle Choir sang "I am a Child of God" and I felt the spirit so strong. It was beautiful. I know that we are all children of God. Another song they sang that I love so much is "I feel my Saviors Love." The power of music is so strong.
This church is led by men called of God. I feel their spirit, their power, and love when they speak to all of the members of the Church. After conference, we were talking to a member of the branch and he just said "I love the church!" and I feel the exact same way.. I love the church!!
1 Timothy 4:12 "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
Thank you for your constant love & support! I LOVE YOU!!
Con mucho amor,
Hermana Robinson
